I would like to believe that this was the Spirit whispering to my spirit, though nothing in my emotional experience of the situation would indicate a supernatural force at work. Except perhaps that lucid thought about slowing down, amidst the turmoil which is my mind when I am driving and trying to hold a conversation at the same time.
But then I saw an ornament similar to this one:
And I wondered what the deer I almost hit would think of this golden, glowing creature. Does a deer have a sense of the supernatural? Or does it regard these statues as freakish abnormalities that should be avoided at all costs? Or, does it not even recognize the abstract visual representation of a foreign species?

The pic isn't working, but I'm imagining it's of aChristmas deer (none of these are really the size/shape of reindeer, which look more like elk). I'm guessing a deer just sees them as strange lights, but it's kind of fun to think of a deer seeing them as some kind of deer angel..... :)
Glad you didn't hit Bambi.
Deer angel. That's what I was after. Only I was thinking it was more like a deer equivalent of Moroni. Or perhaps Gabriel when he visits the shepherds. Deer Gabriel . . .
It's Christmas; Deer Gabriel would be more appropriate. :)
That's just funny. Deer Gabriel...
I don't know what deer think, feel, or see either, but I do wish they would stay on the side of the road when they see swiftly approaching lights. :) (I hit one the last time I went to Salt Lake - not enough to damage my car, but I'm sure the deer was hurt.)
