Cornbread Stuffing

On Thanksgiving Day when I was living with my mom and dad, we ate a dinner with plenty of Southern touches. The most memorable for me are the cornbread stuffing, gravy with giblets, and watermelon pickles.

Now we live in the South. Our last two Thanksgiving dinners have been in North Carolina (which I know is in the South, but for me it's not south enough). Of course today we were in Georgia for dinner. And I find it ironic that my Thanksgiving dinners when I was growing up in Utah were more southern than any of the meals I've eaten in the past three years.

(Someone tell mom I miss her cornbread stuffing!)

Anybody out there have a unique regional flavor to their holiday dishes?

Oh, the irony. :)

I don't have any regional influences in my traditional Thanksgiving meal. Unless you consider "Mormon Utah" a region - in which case I absolutely cannot go without 'funeral potatoes' for my Thanksgiving meal. Deadly and delicious!

I would definitely consider funeral potatoes to be a regional dish. At least, as long as it has corn flakes sprinkled on top!
