New Clothes

Keenan streaked naked onto the front porch.
"Come back here you!" I shouted. "You need to put on some underwear!"
Putting one hand behind him so as to cover his backside, he yells back, while continuing to run away from me, "This is my underwear!"

Pre-K

Today was Naomi's first day of pre-k. She was singing as we drove: the numbers in Spanish, A Child's Prayer, Angels We Gave Heard on High, Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam. And then, as we are approaching to door to her class I hear it. Dearth Vader's theme song.

Water Allergy

Adara had her first swim lesson on Wednesday. Afterwards, we were sitting at the table together eating a snack.

"Is anyone allergic to water?" she asked.
"Well, if people don't drink water, they'll die," I said.
"Could they just drink juice? Oh, but juice has water in it."

***************************

After a day at the beach, Naomi came home exhausted. In the morning, she came to me after getting dressed and said,
"I just can't stand anymore!"
"Great," I thought, as Naomi slid down a wall and laid down, "What could anyone have possibly done already to get her this upset?"
Out loud I said, "What can't you stand, Naomi."
"My feet are still asleep!"
I, insensitively, laughed out loud. "Why are your feet asleep, sweetheart?"
"Cuz I'm just so tired!"

2013 Summer Highlights

At the beginning of the summer, we tried out the rock climbing gym for a few weeks. Our neighbor successfully motivated Naomi to try it. She even touched the ceiling!
A little closer so you can kinda tell it's Naomi.
Summer is fun

Imagination

Keenan: mama, did you see the fire truck fall down from the train track?

We have the makings of a great imagination.

Flight of the Navigator

Me: Papa is the driver and I'm the navigator.
Keenan: And I'm the monkey!

Another gem from Keenan as we sat at dinner:

The blankets will come downstairs and turn into dragons.

Then, five minutes after he got into bed, he came back out crying, "There are dragons in my closet!"
